I am learning to knit. Or rather, I am knitting. I have only made one truly proper thing from a pattern and have now gone 'off piste'. Wool, needles, bit of time... who needs a pattern. Pah.

Wooly Stripy Man Thingy

Look what I made! I'm pleased with these. One went to my cousin for her & her new baby, and the other went to one of my very good friends and her new baby. Poor kids are probably gonna have nightmares over them. As a kid I was terrified of a rocking horse that my parents got from some friends, and thought I would love. Which I did, but only during the day. At night it gave me the heebee geebees and would have to be removed from my room. Anyway, hope my friend & family's children don't have a reaction to these little guys....

More Cake...

I made these cakes a while ago. But they were so totally wonderful that I don't care if it's not new news. I ended up making 40 of them. I do think they all got eaten in the end. What with all the food colouring in these and the lethal 'cherry strepsil' cocktails at new year I'm surprised things didn't get more messy.

Rain Stops Play

Over the summer my work was featured in a lovely new gallery down the road from me.... it was the first time in ages that I had gone in somewhere with my jewellery to see if they would like to take it. The owner loved it, and I sold a fair bit of stuff. Which was nice.

I finally got around to re-stocking my selection, and tonight the gallery is having a wee open night. Kind of a pre Christmas thingy. I was meant to go but have been working all day and I'm knackered. Plus it's raining.... I'm not in the best of moods to chat with folk I don't really know. I love going along to these things when I'm a bit more with it, but the way I'm feeling just now I might just come across as a grumpy, reclusive designer. And that's not really me.

Nothing ever sells at open nights though, it's more of a drink-as-much-free-wine-as-you-can affair (remind me why I'm not going?!) and all the local gallleries are participating, so I suspect there will be quite a lot of in jokes and ego rubbing between the gallery owners who all know each other.

So I hope I don't miss anything good.... I always feel like that when I choose not to go out. Like everyone is having loads of fun and I'm a fool to miss out. Ho hum. Can't do it all.

Anyway, I hope it goes well....

TV On The Radio

Last weekend (or the weekend before, depending on how you look at it... ) I went to see TV On The Radio. I wasn't going to, I didn't have a ticket and was too skinty-poos to get one. Plus the gig was in Glasgow which would mean extra money for the journey....

But my very lovely friend bought me a ticket. So totally awesome and wonderful of her. And I got a lift through to Glasgow. Lots of excellent people were there (I was meaning my friends, but I am sure that there were others also), and the band were amazing. I love them.

There was lots of dancing and jumping from the drunken teenage indie boys down the front, who were so funny. They jumped around lovin' the band but kinda wore themselves out and a couple of them resorted to propping each other other up and swaying boozily. Bless. Dreamy eyed reminiscing of my mosh pit days.....

TV On The Radio have some great t-shirt designs which I am now going to go and see if I can browse....

I'm Back Baby!

Right, that's it. I'm gonna get back on the blogging horse. Or should that be wagon....

Either way I am going to make a concentrated effort. Cos it's fun! And I need more things to occupy me.... I don't really, but for some reason I like to give myself plenty on my plate.

Food....

Um, so I went on holiday, but it all seems like a lot of effort to organise a post about that. So here's pictures of the awesome Indian meal we ate in London on the way back. Veggie dosa for Richie and sag aloo for me. Without a doubt one of the best Indian meals I have ever had.

It was in this little place that was kinda like a cafe - all wood booths and super quick service, and it was AMAZING. Not pictured was the mango lassi we shared which made me swoon.

Grrrr....

It annoys me so much that I am going to shout about it here, even though it's been a month since I posted.

There's an advert on telly that annoys me more that the others right now. I like to shout at adverts, it's like non-contact sport, but this one REALLY makes me shriek.

Laundry liquid, to wash your clothes y'know? It's nice if it doesn't smell of old shoes, and I appreciate that there might be some competition among laundry liquid companies to make the one that smells the best, but something that is scented with WHITE DIAMOND?

WTF?!?!?

White diamonds don't smell. THEY DON'T SMELL! So it's all a lie and should NOT be a selling point.
